Science and Technology Management Area
Work description
Activities within the scope of knowledge management and valorization, particularly within the scope of the organization's various projects within the scope of the PRR: prospecting, identifying and mapping new R&D results; definition and execution of intellectual property protection strategies, support for the drafting of patent applications and other intellectual property rights, technology marketing to potential borrowers; preparation, negotiation and monitoring of licensing contracts and definition and implementation of open source software strategies. Interaction management industry-institution-researchers. Support for structuring business models. Preparation of applications for R&D projects in the areas valuing knowledge, intellectual property and entrepreneurship, mentoring junior researchers, as well as coordinating and participation in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives, particularly in the area of Science and Technology Management. It is expected hands-on training by the SAL team in all the tasks mentioned above, as well as support and encouragement for training in entities international references in the area of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer such as WIPO, EPO, IPR Helpdesk, ASTP, LES, CEIPI, among others.
Academic Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Management or Computer Science, Physics, Maths or similar or Management and Economics
Minimum profile required
Very good knowledge of English and Portuguese (spoken and written) and scientific culture of excellence for evidence-based analysis and decisions.
Preference factors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively in a national and international context with INESC TEC researchers, companies, funding agencies, industrial property agents, venture capital investors, etc. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem solving skills to deal with complex commercial, legal, interpersonal and inter-organizational issues. Strong interpersonal skills that reflect courtesy, diplomacy and a collaborative approach to developing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all work assignments. Professional experience in software development and knowledge of the cybersecurity and telecommunications industry will be highly valued. Participation in entrepreneurship programmes, intellectual property training and experience in technology management will enhance the application. Application Period
