Diego Turo’s research interests are in the area of acoustics and vibrations. In particular, modeling linear and nonlinear sound propagation in complex media, including inorganic porous materials like gravel, asphalt, and fiberglass as well as organic materials like grass, and human tissues (i.e. muscles, liver and kidney). Prior to joining Catholic Umiversity, he was research assistant professor at the Bioengineering department at George Mason University, Fairfax VA, where he worked on ultrasonic techniques for mechanical characterization of muscle tissue in vivo.
