The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for two non-tenure track faculty positions, to begin in the Fall 2025 semester. Qualified candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence. Candidates with teaching interests in plant design, thermodynamics, and chemical process principles are especially encouraged to apply. Applications will also be considered for candidates with a M.S. degree and extensive industrial experience, whose primary focus will be on teaching the capstone plant design and other core undergraduate courses.

The successful candidates will be individuals with professional ethics, strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills, expected to work collaboratively with colleagues both within and outside the department to successfully teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and provide quality service to the department, the university and the Chemical Engineering profession.

Consideration of applicants will begin on Dec. 15, 2024, and continue until the positions are filled.

The university is located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, in Melbourne, Brevard County, which is one of the Top 10 counties in the U.S. for high-tech engineering and industrial activity, and is in close proximity to the NASA Kennedy Space Center. The Chemical Engineering Program currently has 8 full-time faculty members, 70 undergraduate students, and 35 graduate students. The program offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering, and its faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and furthering knowledge through basic and applied research.
