The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Carnegie Mellon University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in all areas of research relevant to the vision of the department. We have a particular interest in candidates who focus on: Modeling of soft nanostructured and bioactive materials; additive manufacturing; materials for neuromorphic computing; energy storage; and power electronics/magnetics.

We seek an individual who holds a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and has demonstrated commitment to the values embodied by our vision and mission. Tenure-track faculty carry a moderate teaching load that allows time for quality research and close involvement with students. We expect tenure-track faculty to establish and grow an internationally recognized research program, contribute to innovations in teaching, and demonstrate a passion for mentoring and advising students.
